History
Founded in 1985, the Southwest Colorado Multiple Sclerosis Society is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization based in Durango, CO. Our Federal Tax Identification Number is: 74-2463718.
We serve La Plata, Montezuma, Archuleta, Dolores and San Juan Counties in Colorado.
What is MS?
Multiple sclerosis is a chronic, unpredictable disease of the central nervous system (CNS), which is made up of the brain, spinal cord and optic nerves. It is thought to be an immune-mediated disorder, in which the immune system incorrectly attacks healthy tissue in the CNS.
